Tottenham take on Wigan Athletic in an all-Premiership FA Cup match-up on Friday with manager Harry Redknapp hoping to repeat last season's winning run when he was at Portsmouth. The Spurs will be looking to progress beyond this round and make good on last season's failure when they were beaten 3-1 by Manchester United in the fourth round. In that game, Robbie Keane had put them ahead, but Tevez equalized for United and later on Ronaldo scored a brace to knock Spurs out of the competition. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp will be keen to see his team move forward in this competition, which was also his first ever major win as a Premier League manager. With the January transfer window set to open up, Redknapp will also be busy in the market as he seeks to have some back up in the squad, which has been hit with injuries to key players like Ledley King. It is reported that Stewart Downing may be on his way to White Hart Lane in January, while Aaron Lennon may move the opposite way. Redknapp is also looking to bring in a goalkeeper and his reported interest is in David James of Portsmouth.

Meanwhile Wigan Athletic were also knocked out of the FA Cup last season in the fourth round by Chelsea. They lost the game 2-1 with Nicolas Anelka and Shaun Wright-Phillips scoring for the Blues, while Anton Sibereski pulled one back for the Latics.
